Whoa! It's been a minute -- I've missed you!

PS. This email is a titch long and I promise going forward they will be short and sweet... like me 🐸

As you might know, I went through a pretty crazy experience with Lyme Disease and multiple co-infections. That was in 2017! A few things happened because of that, and I've since learned about gene mutations and energetic attachments and definitely have a much better innerstanding of epigenetics now. But more on that another time. The fact that I am still alive and now back on the dj train is nothing short of a miracle (at least in my eyes).

Tony (my hunky husband and awesome Tie Dye Artist ) and I moved from Squamish to Nanaimo, BC in 2020 and then boom, lockdown. So we stayed there until 2022. Then, we moved to Comox! We've definitely found our home... but who knows what's next? If you're in the Comox Valley, let us know and let's go for coffee!

So, I did manage to pop out at least one or two mixes a year since 2017, as you may have seen, but I have my energy and feel like myself again and I have so much great news to share:

First, I have a couple of new mixes up (if you missed the ones from previous years, they are all up on my website as well as Soundcloud again now):

The first one is: "I'M ALIVE", and you can find on my website (and Soundcloud). I was finally ready to dj at a nightclub and decided to apply for OPEN DECKS at the Waverley in Cumberland and was slotted to close out the night. Success! Have a listen, and please let me know what you think (leave comments pleeeeeaaassseee on Soundcloud HERE or send me a reply to this email. These tracks get me so stoked! I didn't close my Mixcloud account, I am just at my max for songs I can upload for free there. I've fired up Soundcloud again and ALL of my mixes are there now.

The second mix is a live set that I recorded while dj'ing at Ace Brewing in Courtenay, BC: "FIERCE & FRAGILE".

I am actually one of their resident djs meowww and I play there at least twice a month. They've been running an ongoing theme called Saturday Soul Sessions and I dj for those. Resonant Dog does the other Saturdays.

However, this mix was from their Summer Solstice weekend. I did two days in a row, about 9 hours of dj'ing in total! That doesn't even include prep, setup and tear down.

2 days prior to that, I was on the production team for National Indigenous Day and it was freakin' hard work! I'm used to curating and delegating, in this case I was hauling gear and supplies and well, I'm 50 now so I was pooped! Plus it was hot. But... I LOVED IT and I made so many new friends and connections.

It's pretty amazing what happens when we put the word and energy out there to manifest! I have already played 6 gigs this year! Stoked! Things are happening!

So, I now have my event info', posters, event links and even a Google Calendar on my website. You can actually add the event to your G-Cal! You can find that by going to my website djsprouT.com and Clicking on Events or go right to the Calendar HERE

The two most exciting gigs I have coming up are:

Saturday, Aug. 24th @ The Rockwater in GOLDEN, BC!

I am also playing at The Drop in Revelstoke the night before and I am just waiting back for details on that.

AND... I WAS INVITED TO WICKED WOODS! I was literally hanging on a thread to apply and the night before they dropped the applications, I received a phone call from a long lost buddy who just now happens to be the Curator of the Unicorn Stage at Wicked Woods!

I was grocery shopping and I don't usually answer my phone but I heard "answer the phone" in my head and I am so glad I did. I was giggling, and squealing and crying while I was walking around getting my bananas and stuff. People were staring but if you know me, I don't care about that! I actually played the very first ever Wicked Woods back in... 2008?

I'll be sharing a groovy little set on Monday morning. I'll have the exact times for you soon.

But all of the events I am scheduled for or I am curating are super fun... Saturday Soul Sessions at Ace, The Blue Party Wayward Club Night and "Things that make you go hmmm" 90s Party. All freakin' awesome!

I am about to take a deep dive into music production. Like what?
Dreams.
Coming.
True.
Right.
Here.

I have been accepted into the Cosmic Academy! This isn't an easy program to get into and it's going to be full on. I am a little flabbergasted TBH! My very good friend and dj Sis' Tracy Mihajic aka Double Trouble told me about it (because I saw her slaying), so I'd thought I'd apply. I really didn't think they'd let me in. There is a whole story here and I am going to share my application process on my new Blog and Patreon page soon.

"Cosmic Academy is the only 'results driven' artist development program. For 12 years, we have put over 750 artists through our two-phase personalized mentoring program."

My goal isn't to just learn how to make sweet sweet music and become a better dj, it's also about building a community where I can build a studio, hire musicians, co-create safe / healthy spaces for djs and producers and curate top level events where I can hire event industry peeps. I / we always have a purpose tied to our events and creations. The community I am building is called sprouT Love (via Patreon) and it can all be found on my website HERE.

It's a pricey course and so is building the community. So Tony and I are doing everything we can to make this dream a reality. If you'd like to support us in any way please take a look >>>
