I really didn't think I'd be DJing again this much after having quite a bit of trouble with my health over the past seven years. BUT, back in December, I seemingly climbed out of a dark hole and have been playing pretty much non-stop every weekend since, culminating in this last EPIC weekend at Wicked Woods Music Festival! What a beautiful way to not only end the summer, but also mark a beautiful return to the music festival scene. Wicked Woods is held in Fairmont Hot Springs in the Columbia Valley, which is actually where it all began for me back in the late '90s.

I decided to move to Vancouver Island in 2009, and yes, I’ve been back to play, but the last time I was in the Columbia Valley was in 2017!

It was so incredibly amazing to see SO MANY buddies at this event. It felt like a real homecoming! I am forever grateful to Tracy Mihajic and Murphy for believing in me and supporting me to show up and rock a two-hour Monday morning set at The Unicorn Lounge! I had the best time! Watching the sun come over the mountains and shine on everyone's faces was such a treat. Thank you to everyone who showed up and shared the Love! I had so many friends surrounding me, it felt like a dream.

And, I am always so grateful for the ongoing love and support of my wicked husband, Tony. I likely wouldn't have been able to make it, if not for him. This set is also dedicated to our sweet little Ivan The Cuddler (our cat of 14 years) who sadly passed on the same day that I played this set. We'll miss you buddy but your love will always live on in hearts

I am SO stoked to have had the opportunity to close out the night at the Waverley Hotel in Cumberland, BC. 

I absolutely adore this community. Since I first lived in the Comox Valley (2009-2010), and went to shows at the "Wave", and other events (that I had the honor of being a part of) such as The Big Time Out, the Big Day Up and many more... I have found the people (promoters and dancers alike) to always be super supportive and not a lot of "donkeys' lol, really truly though, my kind of peeps for sure. They are really all about the music! 

Now that I live here again, it was awesome to see Vig, from Cumlerland Village Works, still at it! It's been great to reconnect with him. I believe that I did meet Ben back in 2009 but I can't remember how... well, anyways, he now has a company called Mt. Eliah (aka Long Shot Events) and one of his latest, big projects, is the Pachena Bay Festival. Him and Vig are responsible for many of the great shows that come to the Waverley. 

Being a newbie, here (again) in the Comox Valley, it's important that I get myself immersed into the community and thankfully, Ben & Vig started up an event that supports up and coming djs, as well as provides an opportunity for those of us that are new to the area called OPEN DECKS.

I will be adding a second video - of all of the djs from that night and their info. They were all amazing people and I definitely made some new, very good, friends. Plus, met some lovely peeps who stayed until the end for the love of music! I'm so grateful.
